Age Divisions

Mini -Tykes

Ages 4-6 (birth year 2012-2013)

The mini tyke program is a  new development in lacrosse. The game is played 3 on 3 with half court games to reduce costs and help develop skills. There is one goalie per game, but all the players take turns trying out the position. The mini tykes play with a smaller "Rage Cage" net. Required equipment includes: lacrosse stick, helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, jock, mouth guard. Volleyball type knee pads are optional but recommended.

Mini-tykes typically just play each other, out of East End Community Club once a week

Cost: $100 Registration fee

We will be trying to have 2 groups East End Arena and Gateway Arena

Tykes

Ages 7-8 (birth year 2010-2011-)

The tyke program is most players introduction to lacrosse. The game is played 3 on 3 with half court games to reduce costs and help develop skills. There is one goalie per game, but all the players take turns trying out the position. The tykes play with a smaller "Rage Cage" net. Required equipment includes: lacrosse stick, helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, jock, mouth guard. Volleyball type knee pads are optional but recommended.

Games are typically played on Mondays and Wednesdays, coaches may schedule practices on other days. 

We will be trying to field a team from East End Arena and another from the Gateway Arena

Cost: $125 Registration fee, plus practice floor time.

Novice

Ages 9-10 (birth year 2008-2009)

Novice lacrosse is the first introduction to contact. Additional equipment required for contact are kidney pads and arm slash guards. Novice is played full court, with 5 runners and a goalie.  Ideally there is one goalie per team, who plays goal all season.

Games are typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays; coaches may schedule practices on other days

Cost: $350 Registration Fee, plus practice floor time and Gryphons Novice Tournament.

Peewee

Ages 11 – 12 (birth year 2006-2007)

The Peewee level is very much like Novice. Players should be learning and developing more skills and strategies game play.  The number of teams is determined by the number of players registered. They will be divided on to teams by a draft system to help ensure teams are equal in strength, ability, left and right handed shooters. Ideally teams will have a dedicated goalie. 

Games are typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays; coaches may schedule practices on other days.

Cost: $350 Registration Fee, plus practice floor time and tournaments that your team decides to enter.

Bantam

Ages 13-14 (birth year 2004 – 2005)

Bantam level is very much similar to Peewee. Teams will be determined by number of players and divided on to equal teams by a draft system.

Games are typically on Mondays and Wednesdays; coaches may schedule practices on other days.  

Cost: $375.00 Registration Fee, plus practice floor time and tournaments that your team decides to enter.

Midget

Ages 15-16 (birth year 2002 – 2003)

Midget will also have teams divided by draft. The number of players registered will determine the number of teams. 

Games are typically on Mondays and Wednesdays; coaches may schedule practices on other days.
